Knowing Your Website Information:
When you begin the process towards a new website, you find out very quickly that there are a lot of things involved. It's important to make sure you're a part of this set-up process. Request a back-up disk of your website. Make sure your Domain name is registered to you. And make sure to have all the passwords and accounts set up in your name. Failure to do these kinds of tasks can put you in a position were you loose your Domain all together, or end up switching Web Design companies and having to pay for a new website all over again. Ask your web company what they can do for you.

However, you may want to go all the way to the professional level with a fully customized website, then you'll want something like Adobe Dreamweaver. Another consideration of course is price, as all of these vary from being entirely free to costing hundreds of dollars. Some other options to look into are Drupal, Joomla, Blogger, and many more.
